If you have an old iMac and aren't afraid to ruin it.

Great RAM upgrade for the dedicated with a few free hours. Don't read any further if you're not bored. I've decided to get more exercise during Covid so I installed an iMac in front of my elliptical. The old drive was bad and I figured if I had to open it I could make the best of it. UHHH! That thing doesn't look like my 27. If you have a 27, you have a door in the back that needs to be changed in 2 minutes. If your 21.5 is the wrong year I guess get ready for brain surgery. You need to remove the screen seal, left speaker, floppy drive, power supply, protective bar, fan, motherboard(s). but not the right speaker, which can be left in place. woo-hoo. Flip the logic board and wish for an M2 upgrade slot. Remove memory and reverse steps without electrocuting yourself or damaging connections. Ah, I forgot. This is a 5 star rating. This works great and is even better if you don't have to do it yourself. All complaints aside, if you run the video tutorial on another computer or phone, you can follow it step-by-step without overwhelming yourself. One lost screw and the job takes twice as long. Make sure you connect the video cables and don't remove the new backing you carefully applied after cleaning up the cement Apple used and hope you don't find out why they use a heavier tape than the one you use bought. Adhesive tape is attached correctly. Not right! Put everything back together and everything works perfectly. You remove the backing strips and connect halfway to the reconnected video cables and you're done. Until you mount the adapter and prepare it for connection to the overhead part of the hanging bracket on the wall. If you're wondering what fell on the floor while still holding the computer. The double-sided tape just peeled off under the weight of the screen. The screen hit a corner and fell to the ground. Surprisingly, after reconnecting and sealing the sharp corner it now has, the screen still worked. The two long tears are not visible when viewed from the front as I can still use it as if nothing happened. If I ever photograph another screen, I put a piece of clear tape on the bottom and top for added security. If you've read this far, wow. I hope this helped. Many Thanks
