I was worried they would be short, almost like capris, but luckily for my 9 year old daughter, they filled up. We have 12 and they fit as expected. I took the star off because the upper is VERY thin and the tie loops aren't sewn very well - I had to sew on one side and reinforce the other. Since it was for her Christmas program I replaced the wooden buttons with diamond/pearl snowflake buttons (they might have been a bit heavy on the material) but she got LOTS of compliments. A great alternative to a dress for this age.
