Not easy to install as it was designed that way by Ford. They want you to pay 9 hours of work to take the whole thing off. Not necessarily as there are videos on YouTube showing how to replace it. Of course, mine wasn't too bad. The front screw is easy to loosen, but accessing the back is very difficult. Just need a set of miniature jacks to pull out the rear one. When I plugged it back in, I plugged it in and turned the key and the gear spins until it goes back into the slot. I only put the front screw in as it was tight enough to hold it. There is a tongue on the back so it cannot move. my two cents
