I was a little surprised the bristles weren't longer. This means you have to take longer draws to get the bristles through the straw a few times. It is slightly curved, so care must be taken when inserting it into the straw and pulling up and down on the straw. It works well. I dip it and the straw in soapy water and run it through the straw a few times to clean the straw and basically just rinse with water to clean/lift the bristles.
