Review on πŸ“Ή Sony DCRTRV30 Mini DV Handycam Camcorder: High-Quality Recording in a Compact Design (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Jose Guevara

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A photo from my DCR-TRV30 won a national travel magazine photo contest!*

I have an asterisk in the title because my photo won the first prize in the category but not the grand prize, which comprised all six winners . competed with each other. But I got first place in my category! The magazine was called Country Discoveries, and in my photo, people in a vintage car look at a 12-foot Energizer rabbit made from hay during a What The Hay contest in rural Montana two years ago. (3?) I snapped a picture of my TRV30 out of the car as we pulled up a bit by the side of the road. our car could still roll. Great lens + no shutter lag + reliable focus + steadyshot = great picture. and a prize! TRV30 shoots great video, very decent photos, and has a wide array of controls and gadgets not found in any other small non-professional camera under $2500. Tons of manual controls. focus ring. microphone input. headphone output. Hot shoe for powering lights and dedicated zoom mics. I have additional light sources including a 100ft infrared light that made for fantastic night time wildlife shots. Fantastic macro ability. It has a sports mode that many modern cameras lack. Interval shooting means I can capture 1 second of footage every few minutes to capture a flower opening or add a nightshot to the mix, set the time and film me sleeping through the night. I twist and turn a lot more than I thought! He carries loads of toys that earned him a $1,500 camera. Camera sellers haven't sold a non-professional model like this in over 6 years. And the current market is even bleaker, with the focus on cameras that compress footage to the limit of usability. at least for me. Sony's latest $1,000-plus model has a reputation for not handling MOVEMENTS very well (get it!). I bought one, tested it and it's coming back. Nothing compares to the blurry blur of houses, cars and trees in my work shots. To the latest top camera! All because of the strong compression. And they no longer offer new, high-quality DV-AVI cameras. I dropped one of my two TRV30's last weekend and it's in the process of being repaired. I'm going to be filming a wedding in a few weeks and need a backup camcorder so I gave myself permission to buy a third camera (my fourth actually. I also have a good Hi-8. It still works well too) . . The latest high-end expensive non-professional cameras are available. and instead bought another TRV30 through a popular auction site. It appears lightly used and is described as tested and fully working. It cost $295 with two batteries, a good case, all the cables and clean tape. TRV30s are rarely sold anywhere and this one looks well made. All of his decals look brand new on the side, while the decal on mine is long gone. I'm very glad about that. Oh pop-up flash! Managed. self-timer. video transmission. But wait! Eat more! Analog conversion and transit! NOW how much would you pay?! Haha!
