I’ve only used this mat once so far, but I didn’t have any issues with it slipping on a hard surface. There was no strong smell, and the material was decently comfortable. I am glad I went with the thicker mat; I’m afraid I would’ve regretted getting the thinner one. My only complaint is that the bag seems to be poor quality. As I went to use it the first time, I realized it was already torn. I still have the other elastic strap to keep the mat rolled up, so that’ll have to do.

I got this mat for my hot pilates classes (and make sure you have a hot pilates/hot yoga towel to have on top) and I feel that the bottom of it never slips and it was a great price! It's super light weight and I am never feeling the mat slip on the floor. Would totally recommend.

I read the reviews and most said this was awesome on carpet, never slipped, etc. Unless the carpet is of the lowest pile and maybe Turkish variety, I don’t see how that’s possible. I tried both sides down - the colored side is grippier on carpet, but the black side up isn’t as pleasant a feel. I can see this being amazing on a hard surface, but as I prefer to do my workouts in a room with carpet, this is rendered pretty much useless. Oh well.

It’s cute and all but I ordered matcha green and I literally got a bright Tiffany blue lol. The colors don’t match up at all.
