Just like at the yoga studio!

I was so glad to find this yoga studio grade bolster available on Walmart. It’s exactly the same as what I use in the studio.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Not suitable for active yoga styles such as power yoga or vinyasa

Great Bolster: my feedback

I am fairly new to yoga but have gone into it fully for the past year. I belong to a gym that has yoga classes which I took for a while but I find I prefer to do my own yoga at home in the evenings using DVDs. This way I can do the yoga to relax and not have to get into the car to drive home afterwards. However, that meant I needed some equipment. I got the mat and the block of course, then the strap but for quite a while I tried to make do with blankets and pillows for the poses requiring a…

Pros
  • Comfortable and firm yoga bolster for support
Cons
  • May not provide enough cushion for certain poses

The firm bolster you're looking for

I've tried other bolsters and they are too soft and cushy. This one is firm! So it actually works for the yoga I want to do. Highly recommend.

Pros
  • Hugger mugger never disappoints.
Cons
  • Slight variations in size may make it difficult to pair with other yoga props

High quality. best in my review

While it’s the most expensive compared to market, quality is top notch, this is my second after having an original that’s still used daily. Top is not meant to be taken on off to wash. I will spot clean and sun dry.

Pros
  • An exceptional staple for Restorative and Yin Yoga
Cons
  • May not provide enough height for certain poses

A little narrow but otherwise perfect

I would absolutely give this 5 stars since I ordered it on Feb 18, 2015 and it arrived the afternoon of Feb.20, 2015. I just did standard 3-5 day shipping so I was very pleasantly surprised to find it on my doorstep tonight. I gave 4 stars because it was just a little narrower than I expected. I did try to take out my tape measurer before ordering to kind of get an idea but I guess I was still a little surprised. I'm just used to the wider ones at my gym but I laid on this one as soon as I…

Pros
  • Upholstery-grade fabrics are durable and long lasting with convenient handles on both ends
Cons
  • Not recommended for users who sweat excessively during practice

Perfectly firm - my new review

Love this item. I bought the Manduka one first but it was cheap microfiber and way too soft leaving it unsupportive. This one is very high quality and worth the price step up.

Pros
  • Yoga
Cons
  • Users may feel discomfort if it shifts during practice

Hard as a Rock for my opinion

Bought for home use with Peloton Restorative Yoga. This Hugger Mugger bolster had no give at all and felt like a foam roller wrapped with quilting. It was not helpful for relaxing into the pose and I will return.

Pros
  • ‎Black
Cons
  • The firmness may be uncomfortable for users with injuries

The best combination of hard and soft support.

The best bolster! I fractured my pelvis a couple of years ago and have a couple of other chronic pain issues and I love to sit on the floor when I practice, perform and sing kirtan. This is the best bolster for supporting my 135# body without the stiffness that many plain cotton bolsters have. It's also a great tool for stretching the back and body. I highly recommend!

Pros
  • I love it! Its perfect for yoga and it arrived quickly and is as described.
Cons
  • Not suitable for users who do not practice restorative yoga

Beautiful and sturdy

Love this bolster! Super sturdy and quality. Stuff enough to prop up with a block and not bend or loose it’s shape. Highly recommend

Pros
  • Handmade with love in the USA
Cons
  • Can be difficult to store due to its size

I used to participate in yoga classes at the Y —these are the exact bolsters they have on hand, available for everyone in class to use. I ordered one from Hugger Mugger for myself hoping it would be exactly like the ones I used at the Y —but I like this new one even more! Perhaps because it’s new. It’s the perfect size, right firmness, not too heavy, well made, great color, I love it! Thank you!

Pros
  • ‎2.25 Kilograms
Cons
  • May not be suitable for certain body types

I'll admit I didn't want to spend this much.

I'll admit I didn't want to spend this much money on a bolster. It felt very self-indulgent, but Aditi Shah said it was her favorite, and she's my favorite yoga instructor. I splurged and told myself if it wasn't worth it, I could just send it back. And then I tried it. While I can't compare it to other brands bc I've never tried anything else, this bolster was life changing. Supported Fish became enjoyable instead of awkward for me. In fact, all restorative poses are now much, much more…

Pros
  • ‎Upholstery-Grade Fabric
Cons
  • May require additional cleaning maintenance

Hugger Mugger Standard Choice

After taking a beginning yoga class, I decided to purchase my own yoga props. The bolster is a very useful prop for the sitting positions. This bolster is firm, but does comfortably give and support. It is rectangular in shape. Approximately 5-6" inches thick, about 3' long. There is a handle on the end. I purchased the black, but there are many colorful options. I may even get out my silver oil paint sharpie and stencils and decorate them for fun. I always update my reviews if new info…

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • Limited color options may not match some users' aesthetics

Too Big & too Firm good for me

I attend yoga classes several times a week and we use Hugger Mugger Bolsters. So I ordered the Standard HM bolster but it was not even close to what I am use to. These bolsters are way to large and so firm (hard) I can't see how anyone could use them for Restorative Yoga. They are definately built to last, but for me it would be because it would be unused. I just wish that Hygger Mugger would accurately describe their bolsters better by stating - soft, medium or firm. It only states firm but…

Pros
  • M: Provides maximum comfort for all yoga poses
Cons
  • May not have enough traction on certain types of flooring

BEST bolster good for me

I tried 2 others before finally going for it and this one is FAR superior. It’s the same firmness and softness that I crave from being in an actual yoga studio. Excellent quality.

Pros
  • L: Lightweight and easy to carry
Cons
  • The surface may irritate sensitive skin

Expensive addition but well worth it!

I ordered this bolster to help support me during certain yoga poses, especially when reclining back in saddle pose. But this is also great when doing reclining restorative yoga. The bolster is wide enough to feel stable and is quite thick. It does not have a "squishy" pillow feel. It has a form core surrounded by some sort of stuffing that adds to the comfort but does not compromise the firmness. It does not give or bend if using it propped onto blocks during restorative poses. This is…

Pros
  • K: Keeps your body aligned during practice
Cons
  • May be too dense for some users to comfortably drape over

Dimensiones are off

The hugger mugger is tiny and goes soft relatively quickly with regular use. Should have returned it but. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Offers added support for challenging poses
Cons
  • The filling may be prone to mold and mildew growth

Good Reputation best in my review

Hugger Mugger was recommended by fellow yogis. It seems to live up to expectations. What can I say? It's basically an over-stuffed pillow or furniture cushion, except that it's used on the floor. Not much to it 😄

Pros
  • Many bolsters are too squishy. This provides firm support; neither too hard or soft.
Cons
  • Users may find it too firm for their liking

Definitely a great buy!

My yoga instructor and massage therapist use hugger mugger bolsters with me. Loved them so much I bought my own. This is a wonderful sturdy bolster. Will definitely buy more!

Pros
  • Flat top and bottom create stability
Cons
  • The price may not be justified for occasional use

Staying Open Minded and Flowing

I'm staying open minded with this purchase after reading reviews. I was somewhat surprised by how light this bolster is. just over 4 pounds. I'm use to a larger bolster and heavier one that I use to use in yoga class, 20 years ago.I probably should have been more thorough reading through the description rather than focusing on reading reviews, colors & prices.I will give this a go though to see if I feel the true benefit.I ordered plum which is the darkest deeped purple you get before things go

Pros
  • This is great for stretching out your back, and for other postures.
Cons
  • The surface may not offer enough grip for certain yoga poses
