My husband's back was in terrible shape for a month. He refused to see our physician or our chiropractor, and the massage therapy I got for him was good -- but he didn't want to continue with it. I had the pleasure of trying this and the round bolsters out at my yoga studio before buying. I am a plus-sized gentle yoga student, and for me, I like the stability of this oblong shape better than the round bolster. When we would do restoratives or shoulder opening poses using a bolster, I would feel like I was going to fall off the round one. My long time yoga instructor recommended this brand when I told her I wanted to buy a bolster. She said it’s a few dollars more but worth it as it holds up better than others. I practice yoga several times a week but just started getting into Restorative. I did some research on bolsters and many claim the Hugger Mugger to be the best. But did I really NEED an $80 bolster? The answer is YES! It is extremely firm.(which I love!) It supports and helps stretch my very tight and sore back. Yogis looking for a firm bolster. . . spend the extra bucks for this bad boy!

One of the yoga studios I go to uses these so it was easy for me to make the decision - I'd already used them and knew I liked them. The purple seemed a good idea, as it won't show dirt or discoloration the way some lighter colors probably will. Good materials used and good stitching. I do wish all came with a simple cloth draw-string bag to use when they are stored or transported.

I've never used a bolster before, but this seems to fit the bill for restorative yoga. Nice and firm. Seems to be just what I needed. The fabric is slightly rough for when you put your face directly on it, but a soft towel on it solves that problem.

I was looking for a high quality bolster like the ones used at a yoga studio I attended prior to COVID-19. This one is perfect! It is firm and supportive. I use it for sitting postures, as well as back bends. I also discovered it helps a lot to put it behind me when I am on our old couch watching tv. Corrects my slumped posture!

I purchased this bolster for an unusual purpose. Our church is part of a Lutheran synod in which some congregations use kneelers during the service, but other congregations do not. The yoga studio I go to uses these Hugger Mugger standard bolsters for yin and restorative yoga classes. I love these bolsters so much I decided to get my own set for home practice.
