I had the pleasure of trying this and the round bolsters out at my yoga studio before buying. I am a plus-sized gentle yoga student, and for me, I like the stability of this oblong shape better than the round bolster. When we would do restoratives or shoulder opening poses using a bolster, I would feel like I was going to fall off the round one. I felt like I was balancing along a very narrow line, and it is hard to relax and let the pose do the work when you are afraid of literally falling out of it. This one fits my broader back much better. I also use this style every class, under my thighs/knees, during savasana. It's the perfect height so my knees are elevated, but not too much. I liked it so much, I bought one for my home practice. About the only fault is, I wish it was about 2 inches longer, but I am also tall (almost 5'8")
