I'm fed up with stick ashes. I've tried a few things and I didn't care. Tried it on a whim. Have you walked into a New Age store and all those wonderful incense scents made you want to stay there forever? It reminds me of that. It's easy, but not too easy. Its aroma is clear and beautiful. There is practically no smoke, which alleviates my breathing problems. At first I was concerned about how small he was. But really, he's perfect. Wooden base, metal holder and small plate on top. I've found that it's best to insert the candle from the top, let it hang down through a small hole to keep it from falling out, and light it that way. I sewed two teapots and the brick still works. I just wish there were more purchase options, flavors etc. I will be buying this again as a gift soon. Very glad I made this purchase.
