Review on Rough Country 1052 Adjustable Compatible by Troy Gerhardt

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great once installed

Installed on my 4" elevated TJ over the weekend. Took me about 2.5 hours total. The hardest part so far was drilling through the frame to install the frame side brace. Since I only hit one with my drill bit side of the frame you need to drill a perfectly straight/perpendicular hole in the frame to screw it in. straight hole on both sides. The rest of the installation is very easy and straight forward for those who turn wrenches occasionally. The other problem is that RC might have had to make the stem about a half inch shorter - I had to adjust it to its absolute shortest position to set it up with the axle centered. If your jeep will be raised more than 4" (or you're not using the frame's side mount). ), this is not a problem, but at 4" at least adjust the bar. Racks you may not need I Install the frame's side mount - you must align the mounting points and use or not depending on whether they are parallel to the link mounting points. The last issue I had was that the nuts didn't thread onto the bolts very easily - they actually had to be turned - it seemed like the thread pitch was different, but that might have been intentional so they wouldn't come loose . - Just something to know. I installed an adjustable chain because I had serious "steering" that occurs when the chain and linkage attachment points are not parallel. I had this because PO didn't install the elevator very well. This track and bracket completely solved my steering problem and now it drives 100% better. Feels a lot safer and the suspension now works as it should. I've attached an image showing the front end geometry before and after - note that the "before" has relative attachment points that cause a difference between the bars of about 15 degrees, while the "after" (bottom image) this shows they are almost perfectly parallel.
