I was a bit skeptical about buying the upgrade after reading other reviews. I decided to try anyway. I looked at the first speaker pretty roughly and knew right away that the speaker had burned out. The sound quality was terrible. I asked for an exchange and the next one came 2 days later. I had low expectations. This one looked brand new, the battery was 100% charged and the sound quality is fantastic, just like our other Booms. We were also able to quickly sync the speakers together. Very satisfied. The only reason for 4 stars out of 5 is that you have to go through an exchange order and go to UPS to ship the defective speaker back. But overall we would buy again! ** To update. The supplied charger does not work. General. Tried it on a few items. Sellers, this is your chance to make things right. I won't put myself through the trouble again. Luckily we have several micro USB chargers. I don't think I will be doing updates through Amazon again.
