Great super functional table for the money but could use some improvement

This table wasn't as bad a build as many reviews make it out to be. I may have stumbled across a version with updated instructions, but I barely had time to look at it. For those who have assembled furniture with their own hands, how they fit together is natural. Construction is good, but it's not the quality of the wood grain furniture - you get what you pay for in that regard. Be prepared to have things ready to touch up small scratches and dents on the edges. I had the black walnut version so the black marker worked for me. But I was impressed with the design, how it is assembled. You use rubber stoppers in the pre-drilled screw holes so you don't split the chipboard. Pretty smart. After I assembled it, the device was pretty sturdy. Design is what sells this item. I'm a gamer and I needed a desk that is very functional and also has space for multiple iPads that are easy to reach but not in the way when I'm not using them. The only thing that breaks your heart is that the work is good the way it is. It could have been MUCH better. Suggestions for improvement: 1. Add power sockets and USB ports to this. What good is such a super functional desk that someone is obviously going to use with electronics but doesn't have power outlets? I added mine on an open shelf but if the sockets were built into this table that would be great.2. We need the correct final version of this table please! I use them as side tables for my sofa. My husband cannot use the drawers on his desk as they face the wall! There is no way to create this in reverse order, so it is necessary to create the correct final version.3. The boxes point away from you. In terms of functionality, this is a major shortcoming. The logical position for this table when used as a side table is an outward-facing magazine rack next to the sofa. But it moves the boxes away from you. If you slide the magazine rack to the end, the table looks weird. Wider than long. The bottom line is, if you want to build a super functional desk, make sure the drawers are easy to reach. I understand it has casters but I don't want to keep moving the table to access the drawers.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • so far so good
