Review on 🐱 K&H Pet Products Kitty Sill Fleece Unheated - Comfy 14 X 24 Inches Cat Window Perch by Tasha Murphy

Not perfect but probably the best there is

I was in dire need of a windowsill for a young wild cat that stayed in my home office for several months while we socialized her. I had searched beforehand so I kind of knew what was available. It turned out that there was nothing new on the market, so I decided to give it a try. I had my doubts that some velcro would let that energetic 5 lb cat jump in and forget about our 20 lb cat. After trying the tape/velcro for a few minutes I quickly installed the 3 screws. We have "regular" wood window sills, so I knew putty, sanding, and paint would make those holes go away when it came time to remove them, so no big deal. It's a pretty good perch with screws, but it's not perfect. Make sure the window frame has enough space to attach and detach the cover. You can also put soft pads on top of the plastic legs that rest against the wall below as I'm sure the paint will scuff pretty quickly. The pad is also a bit flimsy and you can easily feel the plastic mesh underneath. There are probably a dozen ways to level up these secondary elements if you feel the need. It might have been a little pricey, but it was an instant hit and made the stray cat I "brought" feel comfortable enough to sit just a few feet away from me while I worked. I'll keep looking for a better design, but for now it's pretty good if you can and want to use screws. Other reviews show that velcro has been used successfully so it's worth a try but I wouldn't risk my cats' safety. And in case you're wondering, after 6 weeks in the room I could finally pet him, gently, gently!) and a week later we opened up the second floor, started mixing with our other cats, and for another week after that he could go home with impunity. He's still at risk of running away after spending the first year of his life outdoors alone, but he quickly learned that living with people has many benefits. One attached photo of "Empy" crouching, the other just shows him enjoying life indoors. cats. said Nuff. It goes without saying that the delivery from Revain was first class as usual!
