Review on Enhanced Sound Experience with Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 Bluetooth Speaker - Jungle Grey by Mike Sutton

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointing in every way compared to the old Megaboom

Coming from the Megaboom 2 which was a very good Bluetooth speaker, probably my favorite so far, this one sucks. There is no bass at all as advertised etc, the Megaboom 2 has a much more delicate sound IMHO, it's no louder than the Megaboom 2, even quieter if you compare them I don't want to get into the frequency response curves, because this speaker doesn't deserve it because they will probably be everywhere. The highs are a little cleaner, yes, but this thing starts to cut really badly once you cross a certain threshold (far from their maximum). Of course you can play very loud, but then you can also sing this song drunk because it will sound better than what comes out at such a volume. Not worth buying unless at a discount, but cheaper than $100-150. Get the Megaboom 2, the old model, it sounds better, probably cheaper and lasts longer. I'm serious, Micro USB charging port in 2021? Are you kidding me?

Pros
  • Portable Bluetooth Speakers
Cons
  • Some bugs
