The first time I chalked furniture and bought brushes, everything worked out. I've read other reviews and soaked the brushes before use so loose bristles fall out. These brushes aren't very big, so if you're painting or waxing large furniture, I recommend buying larger brushes. I made a coffee table and it worked, but I decided to buy a larger wax brush for this step. I will definitely continue to use them for smaller projects, but for larger pieces of furniture, larger brushes will save time. Even after soaking the brushes before first use, they lost a few hairs on their projects where I painted 3 tables and a mirror. But I suspect it will happen with any brush, especially the more you use it. They didn't lose many bristles, just a few.
