I found the screws a bit disappointing. I drilled pilot holes in my wood and started using a screwdriver instead of a drill to install the screws. I didn't think it would be a problem since the screws are so short. The slots for the screws where the Phillips head is to be inserted are very shallow, making it very easy for a screwdriver to lose its grip, and a less experienced person can easily remove the screw and cause a headache. To complete the assembly I used a flat head screwdriver.
