Review on Steelex D2610 4 Inch 275 Pound Polyurethane by Michael Clarke

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good strong reels initially but not very strong after a year

I bought 2 of these sets. The first was this size but had threads instead of a plate and ran under my 14" band saw and worked fine. Aside from the fact that the table height has been increased by about 4-5 inches, the locking mechanism is solid and when unlocked I can move my band saw around the shop very easily. The second set (with the plate on top) has the same locking mechanism. I put them under a makeshift bench of 2X4's and 4X4's. The table must weigh at least 200 pounds with tools and a sheet of MDF, but these casters are free to move and not warp. Overall this is a good buy, they are sturdy and should last a long time. April 2014 Updates It's been a little over a year since I've had them and two out of four have had the locking mechanism fail. I don't lock them up very often, maybe only 20-30 times in the last year, but the two that failed don't lock up the wheel anymore. The wheels are still in good condition and luckily I can still lock my bench/cart by locking the other two. I expected more lives from them.
