Review on Station Soldering Airflow Adjustable Desoldering by Jesse Spoja

Outstanding customer service!

So on Wednesday I received my Hot Air repair station, excitedly pulled it out of the box and "reassembled" (in case you're remembering to attach the bracket with 2 screws, hot air hose end and power cord ). Read the manual before proceeding. The tools that come with it are pretty decent and will come in very handy for all my projects! I flipped the power switch, set the air dial to 8, reached 300℃ and removed the hot air wand from the stand! O glorious day! This bad boy immediately started blowing and heating up, reaching temperature in seconds! For 0.30 seconds, then ALL DIE! The display was off, the hot air gun was silent. Nothing, nada, away, baby, away! So I pulled the fuse under the outlet and checked the integrity with my meter. It's good! I check the power cord. 121 VAC, everything is fine there too! The next step was to contact Revain so I could contact the seller. I emailed the seller and received a reply the same day. We exchanged several emails asking how to troubleshoot some basic stuff (which was already done) and the next day I received an email with a tracking number! My new hot air repair station arrived on Saturday and about 2 hours later I received notification from Revain that my hot air repair station had been shipped to me and they provided me with a tracking number (better late than never Revain 😂!). Like last time, I ripped open the package, pocketed everything, and fired her again. ! I needed to test this baby so I grabbed a circuit board that I wanted to steal some parts from before sending it to Valhalla and this cute little heat gun removed SMD LEDs, capacitors, antenna connectors, whatever. was on a mission! The next step was to try to do SMD soldering! FYI, this was my first attempt at SMD soldering! I watched some YouTube videos and got ready. I am in the process of creating some MSFS 2020 flight simulator accessories to enrich my MSFS 2020 flight experience (these are two Garmin G1000 10.4" PFDs along with a 15.4" MFD as well as a GCU475 and a couple of audio panels for everyone) Interested. Check FlightSimMaker online). I prepped my board, wiped the pads with isopropyl alcohol, and then applied low-temp lead-free solder paste to each pad. I used the included rectangular tweezers to place my 5070 LEDs onto the pads, heated the gun to about 30C above the solder pack's specified melting point (137C), and began waving a stick of hot air around the LED . Pasta started to melt but that was it. I tried a few more and the same thing so I started increasing the temperature. I ended up getting great results around 280C, so I don't know if the soldering spec is off or the hot air temp is off (I haven't measured it with a thermocouple yet), so YMMV! Overall everything went VERY GOOD (see attached photos) and I can't say enough good things about this device. Is it intended for everyday use, day after day, all day? Probably not in this price range, but I'm just a hobbyist so I don't really mind! In the end I got a great product at an incredible price and although I had some issues the manufacturer came to their senses. Highlights with outstanding customer service that is sorely lacking these days. If you're considering this purchase, don't hesitate to pull the trigger! I did it and I don't regret it!
