Best universal 17mm phone holder I've ever used. Holds up well and strong. I originally had a Ram X-Grip mount on a Pro-Clip mounting base in my car, but I got tired of holding it with two hands and always pressing the volume buttons. So I switched it to the AMP board mount version and never went back. To make it easier to insert the phone with one hand, I wrap a strip of double-sided velcro cable around metal rods cut to width to hold it. It opens slightly narrower than the width of my phone. I recently upgraded my girlfriend's auto-iottie mount with this holder (same size ball) and she says it's much easier to use and holds her iPhone better than Iottie in the case. It's the same ball size as many Garmin mounts, as well as the ChargerCity EasyBlade CD car mount with 17mm ball joint that I often use when I'm renting a car.
