My first thoughts on the Duo were "wow, what a cool gadget". and I was very excited to use it and find out. Duo has received some bad reviews and I want to clarify why. The Duo isn't as intuitive as most Android phones. First, its software is a bit dated being a Snapdragon, but it's still usable and easy to navigate if you're used to Android phones. The software seems buggy, but actually I think the people who made this phone are used to being very careful with it and that's why it doesn't always do what you think it should do. Unless you're using a smart pen, which typically sells for around a hundred bucks (like mine), you have to tap hard to select things. Against common sense, you need to be more careful when pulling down the top notification bar. The "back button" is actually a gesture that allows you to gently and quickly swipe the screen from the edge to the center. I had to look up this button. There's a learning curve trying to figure out how Microsoft's linear thinking fits together with Android's intuitive thinking. Once you get the hang of it, you'll find that you can customize your keyboard, use multiple apps at once (which is actually great), and do more at once instead of constantly switching between apps. that there is no headphone jack. I don't really care about the quality of the camera because I'm not a photographer, but the camera is sensitive to knowing which direction the camera is pointing. With that in mind, I think it would be wiser for them to mount the camera with the back of the phone where the camera is facing the front. If they can understand this, then no sensory camera is needed. I think they will understand that in the future. without affecting the thickness of the device. great phone. Call quality is good. Some complain about the lack of cases to protect their phones. The phone is Gorilla Glass and to be honest I'm not too concerned. However, I did get screen protectors and a skin from Mighty Skins. I love the powerful skin! Without them, the phone gets a bit slippery when you put it on the armrest of a sofa or something. And if you can afford it, buy a different colored bumper. Probably black (I'll probably take it) because the white bumpers show all the hair off your shirt or furry animal friends. Pretty unsightly when the rest of the phone looks so clean. I will use the FM transmitter charger with this phone in the car as there is no headphone jack. I need my phone for navigation and work, so I can't wear headphones while driving. Either way, buying over-ear headphones is overkill for most people. Just buy Bluetooth headphones and a transmitter (or Bluetooth) for your car. I'll pick up a random cheap pen because I don't want to shell out for a flimsy Microsoft pen. I don't particularly need it (yet), but as I run more stuff I'll probably get it eventually. I'm just afraid of losing him. Cheap ones can get lost, who cares? Some apps don't work well. Pokemon Go is a little shaky. Can't use GoLauncher (was hoping for a simpler interface) as there aren't any designed for dual screens. And some apps only work on one screen. But this phone is new, it's a launch phone for this line, and personally I'm totally bored with the "new smartphones" that have all looked the same over the last decade. This phone is different from all other phones. This is part of the explanation. And I bought it on sale for 1099 for 256GB. That's a good deal. I see this phone as a popular and cheaper alternative to zfold2. And to be honest I've been playing with the fold, I like that a lot too. But I love my duet. It's so unique. And the loop itself is a marvel. In fact, he's pretty strong. And I like the feel of "book" in the hands. A little bulky when sitting in pocket. I'm overweight so it's a little annoying. I usually keep it in my coat pocket, but summer is coming soon. I'll probably take a small bag for my phone/wallet/keys for my work. All in all, this is a great first addition. I think with some software updates it will be amazing. Also, I can't wait to see what the next duo will be like. I'll probably change this for the next one. I am positively surprised by this device.
