I confess I was a skeptic. I drink mostly red wine and an everyday bottle is usually $8-$12. I can tell the difference between this bottle and a $20-25 bottle, but once you step into a $50 or $100 bottle everything tastes to my liking. However, this little gadget works wonders for cheaper bottles. It connects easily to the bottle and makes pouring that much easier (no spills!) which is a nice bonus. I did a blind tasting test with my partner on 5 different bottles, running them through or straight out of the bottle and selecting sparkling wine each time. His greatest contribution is making red wines noticeably rounder, with a smoother flavor and less alcohol flavor that comes with cheaper bottles. I've also noticed that some notes come out stronger when passed through an aerator, giving more pronounced flavor profiles to regular bottles. Consider me a convert!
