Leather pad doesn't glide my mouse well over it

I have the pink 'leather' version. wasn't sure why. I thought the others might be too big or too stiff. It turns out it hurts because the mouse doesn't slide very well on the mat. It's kind of sticky and causes cramps in the wrists. I used a different mouse pad and the movement was significantly better. The quality of these items is good, but I just can't use the mouse pad anymore because of the stickiness.
