Great scratching post. This almost completely saved our sofa from scratches. We had the rack for about 2 years and the top half of the rack was pretty much broken. You can see in my first picture that the fibers are coming out and in some places the burlap material is completely worn away. Rather than buying a new rack (which I'd happily do) I decided to see if I could flip the rack. to allow the crampons to scratch the unused underside of the post. Luckily you can! You will need 4mm and 3mm allen wrenches and a Phillips screwdriver to disassemble the base and top. Once removed, turn the rack upside down and use the 1/8 and 5/32 drill bits to drill new screw holes using the existing holes as a guide. Fibers hanging loose from the worn portion of the post. After two years of intensive use by two cats, the perch is almost like new again. I hope to get another two years of use, and then I'll happily buy a second one.
