I love this item - it has literally changed my life. I use it in my bedroom and in my office where I whiten my clients' teeth. I will explain how great it is for each place. I like to read at night before bed, but if I don't turn off the lamp I wake up after a few hours and can't get back to sleep, so I absolutely have to do that before bed. The problem is the lamp is about 6 feet from my bed so I have to get up to turn it off. When I was about to fall asleep, I had to get up to turn off the light, and this woke my body up again. So I couldn't sleep again after getting up to turn off the light. Now I lay the remote on my stomach while reading, so I only have to press the button just before I fall asleep. Now I sleep much better and longer. In my office, I apply whitening gel to my clients' teeth, then they lie down for 20 minutes while an LED light is placed in front of their teeth. After making sure they are comfortable, I usually leave the room. I put this remote next to the TV remote so they can turn off the light when they're taking a nap or just want to turn off the light. This is in addition to my promise to provide clients with a relaxing treatment environment. I am so thankful for this product. The only downer is that the bulb does not fit all bulbs when screwed in depending on the bulb. If your lamp has such a metal rod framing the bulb, it will not work. But it works for most.
