The outer fabric is an odd texture. It has almost a semi water repellant feel to it. I purchased it for my mom who is elderly and gets cold easily. The inside is very cozy. not sure if she will like the outer fabric what ever it is?Small fits as a small it appears, hoping no shrinking. Could have been ok with a medium and it would have been a bit roomy. I don't see it as oversized so if you want it roomy order up one or two sizes.
