My wife has a real problem with losing her keys. So when we bought her a 2013 Ford Fusion, it came with two keys, but I immediately started looking for some more spare keys. I couldn't believe the $300 or so dealers were charging for a new key. I eventually found out that these replacement keys could be bought off the shelf, laser cut by a locksmith, and then programmed yourself. And more importantly, the process is really simple. So I bought two of these Revain keys, uncut. I bought a laser cutting service from the world's largest auction site for about $22 a key and shipped the keys (the whole fob with the key inside) to this company in Florida. They cut the keys from a photo of my two working car keys and I also gave them my car's VIN number. When the keys were returned to me I programmed them in about 2 minutes as follows: 1 - Insert a working "master" key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (almost starting the engine) and wait you about 3 seconds. 2 - Remove the key, then insert the second master key, turn to ON position for 3 seconds and remove.3 - Insert one of the newly cut keys, turn to ON position and wait about 6 seconds. Something like "Key programmed" appears on the car's display. I forgot the exact message. At the moment your spare key is working. He starts the car, closes/opens the doors, turns on the alarm and opens the trunk. If you need to program a 4th key, simply repeat steps 1-3 again with the unprogrammed key in step 3. I have no complaints about these keys. They look solid. They are easy to open and close and all buttons work perfectly. I suppose it would be cool if they had the Ford logo on them, but they're really just spares. never mind All in all I paid about $120 for two working parts - $60 each. The local locksmith wanted $60 each just to program them, bringing the price to around $185 - over $90 each. (Oh, by the way, the local locksmith advised me not to program them myself - said "You can never do this yourself, it's so difficult." Yes, that's right.) And my last option was at the dealer, only about 600 dollars . From what I understand these keys are a great deal and well worth learning how to cut and program. If you're on the fence, just know it's really easy. Most of the time was spent doing research (but I did it for you!) and packing and shipping the keys to the cutter. If you have the time I would advise you to take the plunge. Much luck. I hope this review helps you decide.
