This worked for my purpose of running a USB hub about 15 feet away while still hiding the cable fairly neatly. I'll update when it dies, although it's stationary and only disconnects to the back of the desktop so I don't see any issues. Use something more powerful than a keyboard or mouse. Something like an external hard drive would require a powered USB hub. USB 3.0 delivers up to 1.5-2 amps at most, 2.0 can go up to 2.4, but you probably won't get 2.4 amps from a USB cable. with power input option, gl
