Rice is one of the most popular ingredients in the beauty world, and after trying three different rice-based products, you can call me convinced. My favorite nighttime skincare step is applying the first essence. I especially like anything that contains fermented ingredients for their whitening and cleansing properties. Besides rice extract, it also contains Saccharomyces, yeast extract and Bacillus/soybean enzyme, so it will definitely satisfy me. There's also niacinamide, allantoin, and glycerinβall great for hydrating. Unlike the other first essences I used which tended to be very runny and watery, this one has a sticky, slippery texture that reminds me more of a toner. It spreads well, feels very comfortable on the skin and although it takes a while to fully absorb, it doesn't leave a sticky residue. It has no flavors (natural or artificial) and no noticeable odor. I use it under a light serum in the morning and under a ceramide cream at night and love the results.
