These shoes are very suitable for walking the dog on hot pavement, sidewalk, etc. I also like the fact that they are sold in packs of 2. You can adjust the paw size as most dogs have smaller back legs than their front paws. I was able to order her a size 6 for the front paws and a size 5 for the back paws. My goldendoodle wears them almost every day in the summer. They are cute on paws too! I get compliments on her shoes every day! These shoes are well made on the inside too, so they don't hurt her paws - they don't rub or hurt, and as I said, she wears them on long walks almost every day. shorter than others I've bought. So you have to order them long enough, but due to the width you end up with a lot of play in the shoe. I have to pull them pretty tight around their ankles so they don't get turned upside down when walking. I also wish the fabric was a bit thicker/sturdier and the vinyl was sewn onto the fabric rather than glued. If they were sewn I would machine wash them gently but this is not machine washable. They get dirty and I have to brush off the dirt by hand. However, I have just ordered a second set in case her current shoes get wet.
