This lamp's frosted glass shade makes up for many of its other shortcomings. Problems include: Very visible open holes in the base. Those black holes on white are an eyesore. Also, the metal holding the bulbs is easy to see, and it's not white either. This second problem can be solved with a spray can. I applied some caulk to the extra mounting holes to fix the first issue. Also, the method of attaching the lamp to the base is deceptively unreliable. By that I mean it wobbles all over and seems fragile, but it's not. The spring clip holding them together isn't going anywhere, but it definitely makes you nervous. After the lamp is installed, it's just a matter of replacing the bulb. I put 2 LED bulbs, everything is fine. All in all, a decent unit for the price I paid ($5), but I wouldn't put it anywhere other than in a closet, which is what I bought it for. I think the current price of $17 is too high for this item.
