Review on Carbman 846109 Carburetor Stratton Vanguard by Giles Lacoste

did not work as advertised. After installing the carburetor, the engine starts, but runs for 20-30 seconds and stalls. Wait a few minutes and it will start, run and stop. Before installation I cleaned the gas lines, the tank and replaced the gas filter. After removing and replacing the tank a few times to check the gas lines for pinching and gas flow, I decided to open up the carburetor to see if the gas port was clogged or the float and needle valves were sticking. There are no problems with a clogged port. The Carbman needle valve shown in the picture appears to be aluminum. I replaced the Carbman float and needle valve with old original parts and the engine runs fine. Plan to only use the old parts as it works. Disappointment to say the least. A cheap fraction of five stars.
