Used this to trim son's hair since regular clippers give him panic attacks. When he's in the tub and his hair is wet I brush through the hair with the comb. Make sure you don't go against the grain or it'll make a weird sound and tug at hair. If you brush with the direction of growth it'll be a nice even trim. This has been a complete game changer for us in terms of hair cuts.
