Review on Elegant Protective Dockable Case for Nintendo Switch with Handheld Grip Protector Cover and Thumb Grip Caps by Tim Beardsley

Looks and feels good but doesn't mix well with other accessories

My main concern when ordering this case was how the colors would balance with the reds and blues of the joy. It ended up covering 95% of the joycon, so it looks really good. If you have gray joycons, I think this will look better. It feels like a phone case, so if you have one of these you know the texture is very nice to hold in your hands. It also has grooves on the back of the joysticks that make holding the switch in manual mode that much more comfortable. I was also concerned about accessing the buttons and had almost no issues with that. All buttons on the front panel, as well as the R and L buttons are fine. The joycon release button is a bit harder to press, but it's not bad. Unfortunately, the case doesn't work as well with other accessories. First, the switch on the dock itself no longer slides smoothly. It stops about 1/4 inch and I can use a little pressure to get it in, but I don't feel comfortable doing it every time I'm afraid of damaging something. Secondly, due to bumps on the back of the joysticks, the front derailleur no longer sits as well on me. This means that I have had problems with this case both when docking and when traveling.

Pros
  • Case and Storage
Cons
  • Can get damaged
