Put them in the dryer so they open properly.
The cushions look exactly like the picture. They are vacuum sealed so if you want them to look like the picture tumble dry for about 20 minutes. It's not a bad product at all, and it's not cheap at all. I think some people didn't know how to fully expand it. Hope that helps.
