looks good and the tip is very sharp

looks and works as it should. only 4 stars because it is not a 500.00 live center. My lathe has a top speed of 1200 ripums so it should be fine on my home lathe for a long time.

It crunches a bit when turned by hand

It seems like it has too much preload on the bearings but it will probably get better with time it seems accurate so for the price it is it pretty good i will probably buy it again

Good value for money.

Pros:+ Works well with my wood lathe. Quiet and smooth + soft metal (aluminum?) retaining ring around the tip. This may sound bad, but for me it prevented serious damage to the center and knife. I installed a milling slide on my lathe to cut flat surfaces on spindles. The base frame has adjustable stops intended to prevent the cutter from touching the lathe parts at either end of the carriage travel, but I forgot to adjust the stop once when installing a shorter spindle.
