I train in bad weather. Rain, snow, heat, you name it. Winters here in Missouri can be harsh, especially when combined with the wind. My company offers a fleece balaclava that is good for 40 degree weather but not good for wind. I took it and gave it a chance. It works well. It won't keep you warm like fleece, but it definitely takes the wind out of the equation and makes my job a lot more bearable in the colder months. So far the coldest temp I've worn it in was 25 degrees, in windy conditions you probably felt closer to 15, cold enough to hurt your face in minutes if it wasn't covered. And it appears to be waterproof. It was pouring rain and only the mouthpiece got so wet that I could feel it on my face.
