This spark plug tester works as expected. In the box you will find a spark plug tester, a power adapter, some documents and an instruction manual. The instruction manual is very short but explains everything you need to know as there really isn't much to do with this spark plug tester. You have 5 spark plug terminals and you can use it to test and compare your used spark plugs with a new spark plug and adjust the RPM from 200 to 9000 rpm. When you turn on the tester, it defaults to 2000 RPM. As for me, I will mainly be using it to test new spark plugs before installing them to make sure they work properly. Spark plugs are so cheap that I usually only replace them when I want to take them out. To operate this spark plug tester, insert the spark plugs into the tester. You don't have to press like you would a spark plug boot, the spark plugs just fit neatly into the tester. Then connect the power adapter and turn on the tester. Be careful to keep your hands away from sparks! From here you can adjust the RPM up and down and watch the spark plugs work. When you are finished observing, simply turn off the instrument, unplug the power supply, and then remove the spark plugs. Be sure to unplug the AC adapter before removing the spark plugs to avoid accidentally turning on the spark plug tester while removing the spark plugs. This is a simple device that is well made, the tester body is metal and feels solid. Not only is it great for checking used spark plugs, but also for checking new spark plugs before fitting them. No complaints, this spark plug tester worked exactly as I expected!
