The value of this variety of Styrofoam packaging is enormous. I'm working on a very technical art project. This 2mm thick foam allows me to cut and shape foam techniques to achieve the desired result. After that, I can work on a specific area of detail with confidence and a reliable approach. Practice pieces - usually brightly colored foam rubber - can be thrown away with a wasteful feeling because I have so many of them. It also allows me to design the process required for thicker, more expensive EVA foam parts, so I don't have to spend time "trial and error" on critical areas of the material. My project is a full-size sculpture "machine gun". Small body parts and armor pieces are molded from EVA foam. This is an ambitious and technical project with lots of small details, but the versatility of EVA foam allows me to get professional quality detail and results, as well as apply paint and other layers of fine detail.
