I can't comment on the care and durability of this item, I've only had it a few days. It's fairly light and fluffy, not heavily stuffed, but considering my priorities, it's a good choice. It seemed to be of pretty solid quality and the texture was what I expected, it felt like it was made for outdoor use. I got the size XL (for 1/3 the current price) and it fits perfectly. For the price I paid and from what I've seen so far I'm completely satisfied with it. I have an 11 year old Great Pyrenees who loves to lay outside anywhere. To give her more comfort I wanted to give her a special outdoor bed to relax in instead of on a patio which she prefers to the grass. Like most things, in her free time she is content with what is hers. I introduced it to her by holding out the front half and declaring it to be her bed. She looked at me like "uh" and laid down next to him slowly and casually. This morning, however, I caught her spinning him into him with her paws and what I call a "muzzle blast," which is essentially a happily head-down while the nose, back and forth, the mouth is open and utters loud joy. Then I caught her curled up just before she left for work. So I got 5 stars for making my stubborn girlfriend play on the bed.
