Size 4 pants fit my little 5 year old son perfectly. I appreciate the reinforced knees as especially with small children the knees are the first to wear out when taking off the pants and I usually have to throw them away before they are completely gone - very frustrating! I have a feeling they will last a lot longer. The only thing I don't like about the pants is that they are not soft at all and do not feel very comfortable. The fabric is immobile and quite prickly. My son didn't complain, but I don't want to wear something like that. I'm also a bit appalled that size 4 pants have a "phone pocket". So many kids this age are walking around with cell phones that there's a real market for them, but it certainly has nothing to do with the functionality of pants.
