This is one of the best hard drive docks I have ever used. I've gone through dozens of docks and have a few that I no longer use for various reasons. Here are some reasons why I recommend this dock to others.1. Separate power switches for each drive. Each drive can be turned on and ejected separately in Windows. That's a big deal. I have multiple docks with multiple drives from other manufacturers that require you to load and eject all drives in the dock as a set.2. cooling fans. It is necessary. Without active cooling, drives get uncomfortably hot. The operating temperature of most drives should not exceed 50 degrees Celsius. On docks without cooling, I've seen drives regularly exceed 50 degrees with prolonged use. This docking station has 2 fans. One for the left side and one for the right. Each fan has a control on the back of the unit that can be used to adjust the fan speed or turn it off completely. Both fans will turn off automatically when all drive bays are powered off.3. UASP support. UASP stands for USB Attached SCSI Protocol. UASP support ensures you get the best performance from your hard drives.4. Reliability. This is the most reliable USB 3.0 hard drive docking station I have ever used. I have several lower cost USB 3.0 docking stations that have cost me tens of hours of data recovery because they would become unresponsive during long file transfers. When using this docking station, I have not had a single complaint about this device. , lowering my score is not enough for me, but I would like to see this improved in a future model. This device automatically turns off both fans when all drives are off. If I only had drives on the left side of the block it would be nice to only have the left fan on and vice versa.
