There is no way the caps will cover the metal that goes into the clips. (I'm sure these things have the right terms, but I'm not familiar with them.). Yes, it is easy to install. Yes, a worthy product for the money. But I can't stand hats hanging around. I've tried moving the bar to where it fits the clip, but unfortunately there is only one position for the bars to snap into place. I would return it, but the return period has expired. :(
