I bought this stand specifically for video/photo and facetime/skype and it does a good job. I've had several other stands and so far this is the only one that actually holds the iPad in position for long periods of time without slipping and everything is still completely freely accessible (the previous case/stand which I always pushed and screwed on the camera or just fell down). I also think the accessible angles make it a great choice to pair with a separate keyboard as it turns your tablet into a pretty tolerable "monitor". Bonus points for its sleek looks too, which I think complements the iPad well. What's stopping me from giving that 5 stars is that the iPad is still pretty shaky, so I don't feel comfortable actually using the screen when it's on the stand, with a few button presses to get the to open the app. Even mostly passive activities like browsing Facebook are annoying because the iPad feels so wobbly when you press the screen. This product does not protect the iPad in any way and is not advertised, but be aware. I bought it anyway because I couldn't find a product that would perform satisfactorily as a case AND stand and overall I'm happy with it.
