This heated duvet is incredibly soft and comfortable. It's perfect for throwing yourself on the couch and curling up while watching TV. I get cold very easily in California winter. To be honest, I'm generally just sensitive to the cold, which is why I had to experience this villain at the highest level. On the highest level (heating level 3) it is VERY hot, but by no means uncomfortably or unbearably hot. At heat level 1, the heat is very beneficial and keeps my toes nice and warm. I love being able to control how warm I want the duvet to be and how long I want it to stay warm. This duvet heats up incredibly quickly, taking less than 5 minutes to warm to the touch. The heat distribution is also very even, with no particular hotspots as claimed in the description. I've also thrown it in the washer and dryer on low heat and the duvet still works fine. The only thing that worries me is that I'm 5ft 1in tall and when I lay this blanket on the bed and pull it up to my chin there's only a few inches of blanket left before my legs are exposed. For those who are 3-4 inches taller than me this may not be the best blanket. That minor issue aside, I think this is a great electric blanket, well worth the price, easy to use and does what it says on the tin.
