They are too good and too good a price. I have several of these in my house and have also given them as gifts to several friends and family members. They are powered by a 9 watt battery and are very easy to use. They're insanely loud and your neighbors are almost guaranteed to hear them, so you can leave them at home while you're away. The only minor weakness is that they are not heavy and depending on the surface of the floor or door they can slide back too far allowing a criminal to gain entry without disarming the alarm. I fixed this easily by putting a rubber mat, planter or rug behind it to keep it from moving/sliding backwards. I also put double sided tape on the linoleum floor in the kitchen for a big sister at my church. When I travel I always use one of these for my hotel room as well. For outdoor safety, you can also place a 'neat' pad under a porch floor mat. Those who spy at night step on the carpet and set off the alarm, waking up the whole neighborhood.
