Not compatible with other Kidde products!

If you have older Kidde products such as RF-SM-DC networked smoke alarms, this is NOT compatible with them. You must have all P4010 units in order to communicate. I confirmed this with Kidde support on 12/14/18.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • So-so

Excellent and reliable.

Great system, only problem is the wrong one was sent. I ordered wired. The great thing is that you can add a wired system to an existing system and add just as many wireless connections to areas that need coverage. You are ready to get rid of the device. Install last or cover it up when sanding or doing other activities that may trigger it. It's easy to silence.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • No automatic

If you want to keep an eye on your fire alarm buy this model

Installed a few 1.5 years ago. One is already broken. Now another beeps sporadically. All audio signals tell me to go to troubleshooting guide. According to the troubleshooting guide, it's defective. It's a lot easier to have a basic smoke alarm where you can just swap out the battery if something goes wrong. With this model, you can't even turn it off by removing the battery. I plan to drown it and then throw it away so it won't disturb my sleep for another night.

Pros
  • This is fantastic
Cons
  • Operating speed

If you can hard, then hard

I bought this wireless to stop the alarm with the code for 2 rentals. They chirp every 5 seconds to warn they are offline and a simple 5 second hold on the button will search/find and you'll be fine. Renters don't do this, so I know a 10-year-old battery will die within days of a tweet. If you use them personally and can handle the simple reset tasks from time to time (like anything that requires Wi-Fi and RF), then that's fine. But for rental properties, a wired connection is the only way out.

Convenient upgrade in security and protection

I switched to this model after being offered a Kidde model by the manufacturer that was over 5 years old and had expired. This model advertised a 10 year old lithium battery so I didn't have to mess with it. SALE! This new device also fits perfectly with the wall mount of the old device. I was very happy that I didn't have to drill new holes in my wall. I'll admit I've read enough installation instructions to get started. I decided to write this review because this morning the alert speech…

Looking forward to a new one

We received this product on 2/12/20 and it stopped working after a month. The battery life is said to be 10. We contacted the company and they first replied how to reset it. We did as they said and the battery said "replace smoke alarm". So much for a 10 year old lithium battery. I have since sent them another email and they have not yet responded. I asked for a replacement smoke alarm. I'll change my rating if they get away with it. It was a $50 item, I was expecting a much better product…

  • Great for me

  • No instructions

Relations with the support team should be better.

I've had this product for 4 months and the battery should last 10 years. I started getting error codes for the first 3 weeks by doing what the troubleshooting guide told me and now "Battery Dead" is finally appearing. It could be a bad battery, that happens. I bought 2 others at the same time and they work perfectly. My problem with this is customer service. I am on the phone with a person who I hardly understand, it seemed to me that the CS person just wanted to send me to the manufacturer so…

NOISE TORTURE DEVICE - DO NOT HOLD

WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I very rarely write reviews on Revain, but this product requires my input. I have never been so dissatisfied with a purchase I have ever made. These alarms are very loud, which is great when there's a real fire. The problem is that these alarms go off around 4am for no apparent reason. You'll be running around the house in your pajamas and an unbearable roar will wake up all the neighbors within a quarter mile of your house. You keep hitting the mute button and…
