WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I very rarely write reviews on Revain, but this product requires my input. I have never been so dissatisfied with a purchase I have ever made. These alarms are very loud, which is great when there's a real fire. The problem is that these alarms go off around 4am for no apparent reason. You'll be running around the house in your pajamas and an unbearable roar will wake up all the neighbors within a quarter mile of your house. You keep hitting the mute button and the alarms won't stop. Your kid will scream, your wife will be in total panic and the pets will be huddled in the corner trying to avoid this sonic torture device. Expect this to happen night after night! Then it starts to happen throughout the day. So you can expect your pets to be tormented for hours while you are at work. Plus, it's extra nice when your neighbors call 911 because they hear the alarm. At this point you should expect your door to be rammed by firefighters. Kidde customer service is absolutely useless. Everyone answers that there must be dust in the device. Dust in a new smoke detector? Why did this elusive dust ONLY "appear" in my house after I bought these new detectors? In the 25 years that I've been using Kidde products, I've never had a dusty smoke alarm. I will never buy Kidde again, plain and simple, I'M READY! Kidde offered to send a replacement unit, waited a month and nothing came. Every time I call they tell me we guarantee you will get the device this Friday. Well, Friday never comes into Kidde's world. I hope you will take my advice and avoid this product at all costs. You will not regret it!
