I bought this wireless to stop the alarm with the code for 2 rentals. They chirp every 5 seconds to warn they are offline and a simple 5 second hold on the button will search/find and you'll be fine. Renters don't do this, so I know a 10-year-old battery will die within days of a tweet. If you use them personally and can handle the simple reset tasks from time to time (like anything that requires Wi-Fi and RF), then that's fine. But for rental properties, a wired connection is the only way out.
