They work well but sound like a battery operated alarm clock (beep beep beep). This is not any other type of screeching alarm that I have. It's good if you put it in a place where you can easily hear it and be around too often. Otherwise get louder ones.

Nice loud beep when the sensors on the bottom of the device come into contact with water - tested by placing it on a damp sponge. When it detaches from the wet sponge, the signal stops. Too loud. First, the battery connectors are very tight and it takes a lot of force to connect the battery to the device.

Not sure why Wi-Fi needs to be on everywhere these days; I just wanted a simple alarm system for my water heater and washing machine. It is great. simple (no WLAN) and inexpensive. I tested them before installing and they do exactly what I need. Scream like a banshee when there's a leak.

You can save a lot of money with these water detectors. They warn you about the accumulation of water in the pans located under the water heaters and air conditioners. If those pans sit in your attic and fill up and overflow, you could have costly ceiling damage. It's worth reassuring them.

there were no instructions for testing the product. Let's just hope this works because after our water heater leaked overnight I sent for this product and prayed it would work. I wish he would let us know if we can test by putting water next to him to see the alarm go off. Don't know if it can only be used once. Why we're not sure if it even works

Need basic attic drain pan leak detectors. This consumes a minimum of battery before triggering. There were no problems with this. Detects water at a depth of 1mm. It has worked several times. Not disturbingly loud, but loud enough that I could hear it in the attic from a closed room on the first floor. Good buy.

I didn't want to spend too much on this stuff so despite mixed reviews I went for this one. I found the alarm loud enough that I could hear it throughout the house, but the sensors are a bit specific. As previously mentioned, I would recommend placing a binder-like paper towel underneath to allow incoming water to penetrate the towel and trigger the sensor. I've tested this with and without a towel and by far the latter method is more reliable.

Purchased when I was replacing sinks and faucets throughout the house. Some reviews have mentioned that the speaker will mute if they are not screwed in properly. Faced the same problem. I just stopped screwing the top once the holes were lined up. It didn't bother me as I wouldn't do it every day. I also placed 1/2 piece of paper towel under the alarm to allow moisture to spread between the contacts. We found leaks in 2 sinks within a week and we were able to fix them before the water damaged…

These alarm clocks have saved my life many times. I have to use a hose to fill our washing machine. Sometimes it comes off etc. I have at least 4 of these on the floor next to the washing machine. The more alerts you have, the less likely it is that you won't get an alert due to bad battery etc. The more alarms you have, the louder it is too!
